The Trammell Performance System

Six pillars.
One proven process.

This isn't a workout — it's a system. Every session develops one of the six qualities that make an athlete faster, more explosive, and game-ready. Nothing random. Every rep has a reason.

01
Acceleration
10–20 Yard Speed

First-step explosiveness and force production off the line — the burst that wins the first three steps.

02
Max Velocity
30–60 Yard Speed

Sprint mechanics and stride efficiency at top speed — turning raw effort into clean, repeatable velocity.

03
Speed Endurance
60–120 Yard Conditioning

Holding top speed under fatigue, so you're as fast in the fourth quarter as you are in the first.

04
Change of Direction
Agility · Cutting · Reaction

Lateral movement, cutting, and reaction — sharpened with sled and beach work for control at full speed.

05
Strength & Power
Plyometrics · Weight Training

Plyometrics and targeted lifting that raise your force ceiling — strength as a supplement to speed, never the whole plan.

06
Recovery
CNS Management

Structured rest and nervous-system management — because true speed work demands 48–72 hours to absorb.

The Science Behind Speed

Speed isn't built in the weight room. It's built in the nervous system.

Most programs chase a bigger squat. This one trains what actually makes an athlete fast — how efficiently and rapidly the body can recruit, fire, and coordinate muscle. Strength raises the ceiling; sprinting teaches you to reach it.

01 · Recruit
Motor Units

Sprinting teaches your nervous system to call up more fast-twitch fibers — the powerful motor units most athletes never fully access.

02 · Fire
Rate Coding

How fast those fibers fire — this is speed. Two athletes with the same strength; the faster one fires quicker and more repeatedly.

03 · Coordinate
Timing

Glutes, hamstrings, hip flexors, and arms firing in sequence. Off by a beat and you leak speed. Sprinting trains the sequence.

Weights build force capacity.Sprinting turns it into speed — which is why an athlete can squat a house and still get beat deep.
